Good Samaritan rescues driver out of burning car in Middlefield

MIDDLEFIELD, CT (WFSB) -

Firefighters responded to a car into a house on Saturday to discover the driver had been rescued by a nearby Good Samaritan.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Baileyville Road and Rosemary Lane in Middlefield.

According to a post on the Middlefield Volunteer Fire Company’s Facebook page, crews were dispatched to a car into house accident, with the car on fire, and the driver inside the car.

They wrote, “the operator was pulled from the vehicle by a bystander prior to arrival.”

Firefighters said LIFESTAR was called for the driver, but could not fly due to the early morning fog. The driver was transported to a hospital, while crews extinguished the fire.

No word on the condition of the driver.
