HAMDEN, CT (WFSB) -

A 17-year-old boy was arrested as part of a stolen vehicle investigation by Hamden police.

Officers said they attempted to stop the stolen vehicle in the area of Whitney and Putnam avenues back on Sept. 8.

The vehicle had been reported stolen a day earlier from a Mather Street address.

Police said they pursued the vehicle to Newhall and Read streets where two people inside fled on foot into New Haven.

After an investigation, police applied for an arrest warrant for the unidentified 17-year-old, which was approved in court.

The teen was arrested on Monday at his Hamden home.

He was charged with first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny.

He was given a court date of Jan. 3, 2017 in New Haven.

No other details were released and police have not provided information about the second suspect.
