HIALEAH, Fla. (AP/MEREDITH) — Authorities say a Georgia couple honeymooning in south Florida have been charged with kidnapping and raping a woman.
Rashada Hurley, 32, and Timothy Lowe, 37, are jailed in Miami-Dade County on kidnapping, carjacking, robbery and sexual battery charges.
Police say the newlyweds beat and kidnapped a 27-year-old woman at a Hialeah, Florida, supermarket parking lot, drove her to a motel and raped her.
The victim told police she was pulling out of a parking space with her window down, when Hurley jumped out of her car and hit her with something in the head, knocking her unconscious, the Miami Herald reports.
When she woke up, the woman told police, Hurley was choking her as Lowe drove her car to a Motel 6. Police said the couple used the woman's credit card along with Hurley's driver's license to secure the reservation.
While inside the room, the victim said the couple forced her to perform sexual acts. She escaped when both Hurley and Lowe were distracted.
The next day the couple entered a convenience store naked and grabbed a couple of sodas without paying. Police arrested the naked couple a block away from the store.
Hurley and Lowe have been denied bond on the kidnapping charges and are awaiting trial.
Jail records do not list a Georgia hometown for the couple.
