(Meredith) -- Boston's Fenway Park has been the center of many talks about racism in baseball this year; on Wednesday night, a few spectators made a statement with a banner that read, "Racism is as American as baseball."

The banner was laid out over the Green Monster, the giant left field wall at the ballpark.

It was up for about one batter, there was a spattering of boos from the crowd as Red Sox security forced them to remove it and escorted the people from their seats.

Fenway was in the news earlier this season after a fan shouted a slur at Orioles outfielder. A short time after, the Boston Red Sox have talked about changing the name of Yawkey Way.
