10.12.17 Simple Acai Bowls, Two Ways

Simple Acai Bowls, Two Ways

THE INGREDIENTS:

THE BASE

1 packet frozen unsweetened Acai puree (my favorite brand is Sambazon)

1/3 cup milk (I use non-fat dairy, but feel free to use non-dairy or another milk of your choice!)

½ ripe banana

3 large strawberries, frozen,

1 handful blueberries, frozen

THE TOPPINGS:

With Granola & Nut Butter

1 handful blueberries

3 strawberries, sliced

½ banana, sliced

1/4 cup peanut butter granola (I like Nature's Path Organic or Back to Nature!)

1 tablespoon nut butter (I like Teddy's Natural Smooth Peanut Butter)

OR

With Granola, Coconut Flakes, & Cacao Nibs

½ banana, sliced

1 handful cacao nibs

1 handful unsweetened coconut flakes

¼ cup chocolate coconut granola (I like Back to Nature!)

THE STEPS

In a Ziploc bag, freeze 3 strawberries (stems removed) and handful of blueberries.

Add acai puree packet, milk, ½ banana, and frozen strawberries and frozen blueberries to a blender. Blend for 4-5 minutes, until completely smooth. Pour acai mixture into a wide bowl.

Top, in rows, with sliced strawberries, blueberries, banana granola, & nut butter OR banana, cacao nibs, coconut flakes, and granola
