Police identify man struck by car in New Britain

NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) -

The New Britain Police Department said they responded to a serious crash involving an unidentified male pedestrian and a car in the area of Myrtle and Curtis Streets around 12:21 a.m. on Sunday.

The man suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital for more treatment.

After the man was hit, police were looking for more information to help identify the victim.

On Monday police said he was identified as a 28-year-old New Britain resident.

Police said the driver of the car is a 24-year-old male resident of New Britain and is cooperating with the investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.

The New Britain Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau is continuing the investigation.
