A man already on the sex offender register for a similar crime was arrested again for inappropriately touching a 9-year-old in West Hartford.
Police said they took Kevin Duverger, 39, of Hartford, into custody on Saturday around 2:30 p.m.
He's due in court on Monday.
They said they received a complaint about a stranger grabbing the 9-year-old girl on Hillcrest Avenue.
The complainant's daughter told police that Duverger grabbed her by the arms, put her on his lap and kissed her neck several times.
Police said their investigation led them to a separate nearby home in Hillcrest Avenue where they found Duverger.
The suspect admitted to grabbing the victim.
Police also said this happened while he was reportedly on the clock as a babysitter for a different set of children.
He was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault, risk of injury and second-degree unlawful restraint.
An investigation into Duverger's relationship with the parents of the children he was babysitting is still ongoing.
Sources told Channel 3 that Duverger has had a history of drug problems and is a father himself.
Police said they learned that Duverger was on the Sex Offender Registry from a similar incident that happened in 2009.
As the investigation into the most recent incident continued, police said they found that Duverger was babysitting two children ages 6 and 7.
Police said they learned from statements made at the scene that other possible crimes may have occurred with one of the juvenile males. They called that investigation "ongoing" and did not release any details.
Duverger was held on a $200,000 bond.
