State police arrest teens for stealing vehicles in Southbury

SOUTHBURY, CT (WFSB) -

Three teens faces charges for stealing a vehicle, according to state police.

The juveniles, ages 15, 16 and 17, were charged with motor vehicle theft, sixth-degree larceny and interfering with an officer.

Troopers said they and officers from the Southbury Police Department were sent to the Woods Way Road area on Saturday around 12:30 a.m. They said they were trying to find a stolen BMW that was believed to be there.

New Canaan police reported that the vehicle had been stolen from their town on Oct. 19.

Police found the vehicle on Beacon Hill Road in Southbury.

Two of the teens were immediately taken into custody.

Two others ran and troopers were only able to catch up to one of them.

The three arrested suspects were released to the custody of their parents and scheduled to face a judge in Waterbury Juvenile Court on Nov. 2.

The investigation continues.
