PD: Mass. woman dies after crash on Route 17 in Glastonbury

GLASTONBURY, CT (WFSB) -

A Massachusetts woman died after a motor vehicle crash on Route 17 in Glastonbury on Friday morning.

Police said a 2005 Acura MDX being driven by Springfield, Ma. resident Cuong Kim Tran was traveling "in an unknown direction on Route 17" around 10:40 a.m. A 2013 Buick Verano being driven by Dennis, Ma. resident Nancy S Woodworth, was also traveling "in an unknown direction on Route 17."

The two vehicles collided head-on, according to police. 

Police said 76-year-old Woodworth was pronounced dead at the scene. Tran suffered "minor injuries," and police said he was taken to Hartford Hospital.   

Both vehicles sustained "severe damage." 

 Route 17 in Glastonbury was closed between Hubbard and Main streets until around 3:30 p.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by Connecticut State Police. Anyone with any information is asked to police at 860-534-1000.
