State budget cuts continue to affect the cost and quality of higher education in states across the country, including Connecticut.
The personal finance website WalletHub said that's why it came up with its list of 2018's best colleges in Connecticut.
WalletHub's analysts said they came up with the rankings based on 26 key measures, including student selectivity, cost and financing and career outcomes. Student-faculty ratio, graduation rate and post-attendance median salary were also taken into account.
Here are the top 9 schools in the state:
Overall, Yale University finished 6th in the country out of 1,000 schools.
The top three were Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Princeton University and Harvard University.
