A woman died after authorities said she was struck by a train in Beacon Falls on Wednesday morning.
According to state police, it happened on Metro-North's Waterbury line near Railroad Avenue around 9:30 a.m.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is investigating the crash.
"Waterbury Branch Line Customers should anticipate delays due to a person struck by a train in the vicinity of Beacon Falls. Please listen for announcements at your station," the MTA posted a statement on its website on Wednesday.
Police did not release the woman's name or age.
