(Meredith) – Sometimes, saying goodbye in the morning to our furry family members is the toughest part of the day. But those days might be over because now if your dog (or other pet) gets lonely, they can call you with the push of a button.
“PetChatzHD” is a two-way audio/video pet treat camera that allows you to interact with your pet from anywhere.
It’s available on Amazon right now. Here’s a brief description from the company:
Connect and interact with your pet from anywhere through the free PetChatz iOS/Android app or on your desktop. There are no corners, edges or cords to chew and it attaches securely to your wall as a fully contained unit.
It also includes a calming scent, specially formulated to help relieve an anxious, scared or nervous pet. You can also capture all your special moments with a video or photo and share with family and friends.
The device is priced at $349. However, that price tag hasn’t stopped pet owners from buying one. Check out these reviews:
"I had to set the unit to a limit of 10 treats a day or I would be out of control and Dozer my English Bulldog would get very chubby." – Gregory
"I am able to be in touch with my dogs as I am at work and know that they are safe and I am checking in on them. I really love that I can talk to them and we can both see one another. It really makes a difference!" – Cherie L.
"I love my PetChatz!! I am so happy to be able to "call" my dogs when away on vacation. It has made a huge difference to my dogs, and I truly feel it helps them to hear from me when I am gone for an extended period of time." - Holly
However, some were not impressed.
"There is also a fine print that says "if you use a different treat they will void your warranty." What the heck? This is an almost $400 piece of crap but you don't have the freedom to put the treats that you want?" – LoveLea20
"Unfortunately, very disappointed with this product. While the idea is great, the treat dispenser was dispensing non stop at times." – Kathleen W.
"Absolutely terrible product and company. Purchased for my wife for Christmas. Installed as soon as we could. the sound didn't work when we would call so our dog couldn't hear anything and the video would freeze right away." - Kevin
If you want your pet to be able to call you, you'll need the PawCall.
