VERNON, CT (WFSB) -

A minor injury was reported in what appeared to be a serious crash on Interstate 84 in Vernon on Thursday.

According to dispatchers, the crash happened between exits 64/65 and 66 on Thursday morning.

Margot Martello, 37, of Ellington, suffered the minor injury, according to state police.

The highway was closed at Dobson Road. The scene was cleared later in the day.

The crash involved a vehicle and a tractor trailer.

Troopers said the tractor trailer, driven by Antwan Walters of Woodbury, NJ, was parked on the right shoulder of the highway just west of exit 66.

For reasons unknown, Martello drove into the area and veered into the truck from behind.

Troopers reported that the weather was clear, but the road was wet from snow melt.

The Life Star emergency helicopter was called and airlifted Martello to the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 860-896-3200.
