Gorgeous summer weather, briefly... before heat/humidity returns!

Posted: Updated:
HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

AFTERNOON UPDATE...

It’s a gorgeous day across CT, with sunshine and low humidity… Tomorrow promises to be equally as nice as we end the week.

The weekend is on track to feature a warming trend, at the same time humidity will also creep up.  A minimal, 2nd heat wave of the year still looks likely Sun/Mon/Tue.  Rain/storm chances appear low over the weekend (isolated if they do pop up, and more likely Sunday over Saturday).

Next week, we’ll see a better chance for unsettled weather, especially late Tuesday into Wednesday with the arrival of a cold front.

TODAY & TOMORROW…

With high pressure in place, we’ll enjoy a couple of very pleasant summer days!  Today will be mostly sunny and the humidity will be low.  Dew points will be in the 40s and 50s.  The air will become seasonably warm with highs in the low and middle 80s.  It's a top ten best day of the year!

The mercury will dip into the 50s and lower 60s tonight under a mainly clear sky.

Tomorrow will be a lot like today with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to middle 80s.  The humidity should be a little higher, but still in the comfortable range.

THE WEEKEND …

Temperature and humidity levels will be on the rise over the weekend.  Saturday won’t be too bad with partly sunny skies and highs in the mid to perhaps upper 80s.  However, Sunday will be hotter with highs around or just over 90 degrees.  The air will be humid and the sky will be partly to mostly sunny.  A shower or thunderstorm can’t be ruled out at some point over the weekend.  However, our weather will be primarily dry for outdoor activities.

NEXT WEEK…

The hot weather is expected to continue Monday and Tuesday with temperatures reaching or exceeding 90 degrees.  That means we could have our second heat wave of the year!  However, it should be a minimal heat, expected to last 3 days.  A cold front will move through the state on Wednesday, keeping temperatures in the 80s.

The chance for a thunderstorm will be low on Monday.  There may be a better chance for showers and storms late Tuesday and Tuesday night in advance of the cold front.  Showers and a few thunderstorms appear likely on Wednesday with the cold front moving through Connecticut.
