Construction To Close Lanes Of Putnam Bridge

Repair Work To Last 10 Weekends

Repair work on Putnam Bridge will lead to directional closures on upcoming spring and summer weekends.

Repair and resurfacing work of the bridge, which carries Route 3 between Wethersfield and Glastonbury, is scheduled to last for 10 weekends beginning April 25.

Bridge To Undergo Repairs Throughout Summer

Southbound lanes will be closed at the Main Street Glastonbury exit and northbound lanes will be closed at the Route 91 Hartford -- New Haven exit.

The lane closures will be enforced from Friday at 8 p.m. until Monday at 6 a.m.

Scheduled Closures:

  • April 25 – 27: First Directional Weekend Closure – Southbound
  • May 2 – 4: Directional Weekend Closure – Southbound
  • May 9 – 11: Directional Weekend Closure – Southbound
  • May 16 – 18: Directional Weekend Closure – Southbound
  • May 23 – 25: No Lane Closures – (Memorial Day Holiday)
  • May 30 – June 1: Directional Weekend Closure – Southbound
  • June 6 – 8: Directional Weekend Closure – Northbound
  • June 13 – 15: Directional Weekend Closure – Northbound
  • June 16 – 22: No Lane Closures (PGA Travelers Championship)
  • June 27 - 29: Directional Weekend Closure – Northbound
  • July 3 – 7: No Lane Closures (July 4 Holiday)
  • July 11 – 13: Directional Weekend Closure - Northbound
  • July 18 – 20: Directional Weekend Closure - Northbound
  • July 25 – July 28: Last Permitted Directional Weekend Closure (if required)
