HARTFORD, Conn. -- The state is offering Connecticut commuters free rides to work.Under a state-sponsored program, new riders can get 10 free trips on public transportation.The commuting options include buses across the state.The trail ride incentive is available to employees commuting to and from work who are not current bus riders.To use the program, commuters should contact a regional Department of Transportation Commuter Services office. They will then receive a 10-trip ticket.To get the free ticket, residents of the Hartford-New London area should call 1-800-972-EASY. Residents of the New Haven-Waterbury area should call 1-800-ALL-RIDE. Residents of Fairfiled County should call 1-800-FIND-RIDE.
