Washington Ceremony Pays Tribute To NCAA Champions

Tina Charles got her wish on Monday as the national champion UConn Huskies met with President Barack Obama in Washington.

The Huskies were honored for an undefeated season that ended with the women winning the NCAA title.

After scoring 25 points in the title game against Louisville, center Tina Charles looked into the television cameras and told the president she'd be seeing him at the White House.

Obama welcomed the team to the White House, saluting the squad's national title and undefeated season.

The president, a former high school player and avid hoops fan who still plays pickup games, paid tribute Monday to coach Geno Auriemma and his club during a championship ceremony.
