Police make arrest in Hartford homicide investigation
HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - Police made an arrest in connection to a Hartford shooting that left one person dead and another hurt.
Authorities said it happened August 11.
Hartford police said they received a 911 call from a person who reported that the person and a friend had both been shot. The caller also reported his friend was deceased.
When officers arrived on the Laurel Street scene, they said they did find the surviving victim.
“Upon arrival, we did locate the surviving victim,” said. Lt. Aaron Boisvert, Hartford police. “He was immediately transported to a local area hospital for treatment.”
No information was released about the extend of his injuries.
The second male was pronounced deceased on scene, according to police. He was identified as Simon Griffin, 33.
Griffin lived at the Laurel St. apartment.
Boisvert said that the two victims knew each other.
Hartford police arrested Benjamin White, 35, of Hartford, in the shooting.
White was taken into custody on Friday.
He is charged with murder, criminal attempt to commit murder, assault first-degree, and criminal possession of a firearm.
White has a bond of $2 million.
The homicide marked Hartford’s 25th of the year.
