Powerball numbers finally revealed; $2.04 billion jackpot winning ticket sold

ROCKY HILL, CT (WFSB) - Monday’s Powerball numbers were delayed due to some kind of technical difficulty, but this time there was a winner.

Around 9 a.m. on Tuesday however, lottery officials finally revealed them:

They were 10-33-41-47-56 and the Powerball was 10. The Power Play was 2.

Powerball’s website said the winner was in California. The cash value of the $2.04 billion jackpot was $997.6 million.

Connecticut had four $50,000 prize winners.

The drawing was supposed to happen at 10:59 p.m.

Lottery officials revealed on Tuesday that the record-breaking $2.04 billion Powerball drawing was delayed because a participating lottery had issues processing sales and that it was likely the results wouldn’t be known until later Tuesday. The pot jumped from $1.9 billion following updated calculations.

The Connecticut Lottery said the delay was not its fault. It gave Channel 3 a statement on Tuesday morning.

“The Powerball drawing delay is unrelated to Connecticut,” it said. “There was no system-wide outage [Monday]. We were aware of some terminals running a little slower than usual and a handful of terminals were down, but well within the normal number on any given day.”

The Multi-State Lottery Association also issued a statement on Tuesday morning.

“Powerball requires all 48 participating lotteries to submit their sales and play data prior to the winning numbers being selected,” the association said. “Once Powerball receives the outstanding submission, the drawing can proceed.”

It told the Associated Press early Tuesday morning that it was against its policy to name the lottery that caused the delay; however, it had been working with the unnamed lottery through the night to resolve the issue.
