Pedestrian struck, killed on Whalley Avenue in New Haven
New Haven, Conn. (WFSB) - Police say a person was struck and killed by a driver on Whalley Avenue near Hudson Street.
The person struck was identified as 42-year old Judith Williams from New Haven.
Police say the accident happened before 6:12 p.m. on Monday.
According to police reports, the driver called police reporting he had struck a woman in the road.
Police and EMS found Williams unconscious in the roadway suffering from significant injuries.
She was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver says he did not see Williams in the road but felt the impact.
Police are asking witnesses to contact the New Haven Police Department.
