Motorized bike riders struck by driver on Route 6 in Bristol
BRISTOL, CT (WFSB) - Route 6 in Bristol was closed Wednesday morning because a driver struck two people who were riding a motorized bike.
The state Department of Transportation said the road was shut down between Mix Street and Stafford Avenue. It has since reopened.
Two men were seriously hurt but are expected to recover, according to Bristol police.
Investigators said the two were riding along when they were struck by a driver.
Parts of the bike could be seen scattered all over the road.
The vehicle involved had its windshield shattered. Its driver was interviewed by police.
“I didn’t hear no squeak,” said Freddy Santiago of Bristol. “Like, you know how you brake, like ‘errrr?’ None of that. It was like ‘boom!’”
