HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) – Two teenagers were injured in a Hartford shooting Wednesday night, according to police.

Police said they started their investigation after shots were reported on Garden Street at Homestead Avenue around 7:54 p.m.

Two 16-year-old boys suffered from non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the shooting, police confirmed.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting remained under investigation on Thursday morning.

A local resident alerted police to the shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they located one of 16-year-old boys, who was wounded.

Another 16-year-old male victim was found a short time later.

Both victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Police said they are expected to survive.

Officials were seen looking into vehicles in the area during their investigation.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions continue to look into the details.
