(Meredith) -- Horror fans, your prayers have finally been answered: the next season of "American Horror Story" will be reminiscent of classic slasher films.

On Wednesday, "American Horror Story" creator Ryan Murphy revealed a teaser trailer on Instagram for the show's ninth season, titled "1984."

In the teaser trailer, a large, masked man is shown chasing a teen girl through the woods. She finds shelter in a cabin, and the man stabs through the front door with a knife (in true Michael Myers style). Fans are comparing the trailer to classics like "Friday the 13th" and "Scream."

Recently, "American Horror Story" actor Evan Peters announced he would not be a part of the upcoming season. However, actress Emma Roberts has been confirmed to be in it.

"American Horror Story: 1984" debuts this fall on FX. No official release date has been set.
