On Friday, July 12th, from 8:30 PM – 9:30 PM, the East Granby Congregational Church in East Granby (9 Rainbow Rd, corner of Rts. 20 and 189) will be hosting a Candle light Vigil in support of migrants/detainees at our nation’s southern border, who are being held in inhumane conditions.

We will be hosting this vigil, in concert with thousands of other individuals and religious and secular organizations, at more than 700 sites, across our country, and around the world, who have been motivated to participate in this movement titled “Lights for Liberty”.

There will be speakers, music, prayer, silence, and candle light.

Everyone in East Granby, and the surrounding community is welcome to join us for this important event.  It will be held outside, on our Great Lawn (on the west side of the church) weather permitting.  In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held indoors, in our Round Room.

Our gathering will be a non-partisan, peaceful vigil, rather than a political protest, and we will not be speaking in support of, or in opposition to any particular individuals or political parties.  Everyone is asked to refrain from bringing political signs to this gathering.
