Deondrea Leonard

SMYRNA, Ga. (CBS46/Meredith) -- A Georgia man has been charged with felony cruelty to children after allegedly throwing two children over a barbed wire fence.

Deondrea Leonard, 34, allegedly threw his 1-year-old son and another child over a 7-foot barbed wire fence while attempting to flee police Nov. 24. As a result, the one-year-old suffered scratches to the face and mental pain.

Once caught, Leonard attempted to give police a false identity. He is charged with pedestrian on roadway with no sidewalk, willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer, giving a false identifying information to an officer, and felony cruelty to children.

Leonard is being held at Cobb County Jail. His bond has been set at $22,000.
