UNCASVILLE, CT (WFSB) - Another free mask giveaway took place on Tuesday morning.

Channel 3 partnered with Masks for CT to help hand out free face masks until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19 at Mohegan Sun.

The event kicked off early, around 6 a.m. to help alleviate traffic.

Tuesday’s giveaway was the most successful one yet with more than 70,000 masks given away.

All people had to do is drive up and pop the trunk. Volunteers will drop a bag containing five face masks into the vehicle.

The event is in collaboration with the Jewish Federation of Greater New Hartford, Masks for Heroes and Mohegan Sun.

It's the 7th Masks for CT event in which Channel 3 has been a part. An eighth is scheduled for Thursday on the Yale campus in Orange.

The lines moved quickly for seven straight hours. Even Congressman Joe Courtney jumped in to help direct traffic.

“It actually shows people are still committed to being sparked about the fact that we’re not completely done with face coverings,” Courtney said.

The next even is at the Yale West Campus in Orange and then the mask giveaway will be heading to the quiet corner.

The seniors are waiting in line for hours for a free mask. They’re using $10 in gas to get a cheap mask that CVS was selling for $2.
