A joint task force between multiple law enforcement agencies led to the arrest of a man on Friday wanted on a 16-year-old murder case, according to the Bridgeport Police Department.
Police said Samuel Calvario was living in Bridgeport under the false name, Felix Gonzales-Morales. Police said when Calvario filed a police report for a stolen vehicle that led investigators to his location on Poplar Street.
In conjunction with other agencies including U.S. Marshals, the Hartford Police Department and others, the Bridgeport Police Department served the warrant to Calvario on Friday morning and took him into custody without incident.
Calvario is currently being held on charges of being a fugitive from justice. He is being held on a $1,000,000 bond and will face an extradition hearing to California.
In California, Calvario will face charges of murder, kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the killing of Daniel Felix in 2000, according to officials.
