GRISWOLD, CT (WFSB) - Interstate 395 was closed in both Griswold and Thompson at one point because of crashes that involved several vehicles.

Both areas partially reopened later in the morning.

State police warned of icy road conditions throughout eastern Connecticut.

According to the Department of Transportation, one crash happened on the northbound side of I-395 in Gristold between exits 22 and 24.

Griswold crash

A crash closed I-395 north in Griswold the morning of Dec. 8.

I-395 north was closed in that area. However, only the left lane was closed by later in the morning.

The crash was first reported just after 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

There's no word on injuries or a cause.

Interstate 395 was also closed in Thompson due to another crash.

It partially reopened later in the morning, but the DOT warned drivers to still expect lane closures on both sides of the highway.

According to state police, the closure impacted both sides of the highway at exit 53.

There's no word on injuries in either crash.
