Car fire on I-84 near Southington/ Plainville town line causes traffic delays

A motor vehicle fire has closed the westbound side of Interstate 84 near the Southington/Plainville town line. (CT DOT)

A motor vehicle fire closed the westbound side of Interstate 84 near the Southington/Plainville town line on Monday morning.

I-84 was closed near exit 33 after a truck fire was reported around 10:30 a.m.

Lanes reopened around 11 a.m.

The highway reopened around 11:30 a.m.

There is no word on injuries

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
