The Danbury Police Department is warning residents about a hoax on social media involving an alleged missing girl.

Police said there have been no complaints of a missing girl by the name of Kitty Collins.

However, there is a link circulating on Facebook, which leads people, who click on it to a website where your personal or financial information could be stole, police said.

Anyone interested in confirming a possible missing person is asked to call the Danbury Police Department at 203-797-4611.
