1 dead after crash on Route 6 in Bolton

One person was dead after a multi-vehicle crash on Route 6 in Bolton on Tuesday evening. (WFSB)

One person died and others were injured after a multi-vehicle crash on Route 6 in Bolton on Tuesday evening, police said.

Route 6, which is also known as Hop River Road, was closed near South Road after a four-car crash around 5 p.m.

Authorities said the crash caused one of the vehicles to rollover and one person was ejected from a vehicle.

Life Star medical helicopter was called to the scene.

One person died from injuries suffered in the crash, police said. The name, age and gender of the victim was not released on Tuesday night. An undisclosed number of people were taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by state police.
