1 dead, 1 injured in house fire

One person has been killed and another injured in a house fire in Connecticut.

State police say troopers and firefighters responded to the residence in Colchester around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival, they found one person suffering from life-threatening injuries. The victim was taken to a hospital in Rhode Island. The victim remained hospitalized Sunday.

State police say a second victim was found dead at the scene. The Office of the Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of death.

Police haven't released the victims' names. No other injuries were reported.

The fire remains under investigation.
