A man was arrested after leaving his dog inside a hot car in Farmington.

Police responded to the parking lot of the Marriott Hotel on Wednesday just before 9 p.m. for the report of a dog in a car.

The hotel employee was able to open the hatchback because it was unlocked and let the dog out of the car.

The windows were open about an in and the outside air temperature was approximately 83 degrees at the time of the incident.

Once police arrived, the officer put the dog in a cruiser with air conditioning and gave it water.
