Eastern Connecticut State University officials said a student died Friday.

Elizabeth Hadfield, 21, of Glastonbury, was a senior studying elementary education and visual arts.

Officials said she died unexpectedly, but did not give any other details.

Hadfield was expected to graduate this spring and was a dean's list student.

President Ken Bedini said in a letter to students, "the University is deeply saddened by this tragic loss. Elizabeth will be greatly missed by her firends and faculty here at Eastern. Our prayers go out to her family and friends during this difficult time."
