A complaint that appears to reference a high school swim coach is on the radar of the Bristol Police Department.
The Bristol Central High School coach, whom police have not officially identified, was the subject of the complaint, according to Lt. Richard Guerrera, Bristol police.
The complaint involves a video that was posted on Facebook.
"The BPD received a complaint from a Bristol [Board of Education] official about the video and the BPD is investigating," Guerrera said.
The person in the video has not been charged with a crime but Channel 3’s media partner, The Bristol Press, is reporting the Bristol superintendent said the employee no longer works at the school.
The person is also a swim coach at the Meriden, New Britain, and Berlin YMCA.
In a statement, they say the employee no longer works there and said “We are aware of the allegations against a member of our staff and are working with local and state authorities as part of their investigation. The employee is no longer working for the Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA.”
They also say they have a series of measures in place to keep kids safe including doing criminal background checks, sex offender registry checks and they do not allow staff to have contact with children outside of the YMCA.
Channel 3 also reached out to the superintendent but has not yet heard back.
