Windsor High School dealing with threat

A police pursuit that began in Windsor with a reported abduction ended across state lines in Massachusetts.

An unidentified passenger has been arrested so far. Springfield, MA police said they are still searching for the driver.

Windsor police said it started on Maple Avenue in Windsor, CT around 2:20 a.m. on Thursday.

They said a woman was taken from her home against her will by two men who are believed to be known by the victim.

Connecticut State Police said the abduction was done at gunpoint. The vehicle involved was also reportedly stolen.

Troopers pursued the suspect up I-91.

On the Memorial Bridge in Springfield, MA, Springfield police said a man and a woman were thrown out of the car.

The victim was found by police and was said to have suffered a minor injury.

The passenger, at that point, remained on the loose.

At some point during the pursuit, they believe the firearm was also thrown out of the car in the area of the bridge.

Around 6:40 a.m., Springfield police reported that a firearm was found in the Westbound Lane of the bridge.

The driver eventually crashed in the area of Columbus Avenue and Emery Street. The driver then fled on foot, police said.

After an extensive ground search, police said they were able to find the passenger who was in the vehicle. He was arrested. The driver, however, remains on the loose.

Investigators determined that the vehicle was stolen from Euclid Avenue in Windsor.

Windsor police responded and have interviewed the victim. They also recovered the vehicle.

The investigation continues.
