Hartford police are investigating after a man was shot and killed on Monday afternoon.
They identified the victim as 20-year-old Tyrell Spence of Vine Street.
The shooting happened around 12:30 p.m. in the area of Westland Street.
Police said Spence was found inside a car suffering from several gunshot wounds.
He was taken to St. Francis Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police have not named any suspects at this time but say there are eyewitness and surveillance cameras in the area which could help police make an arrest.
There is also no known motive but police said in the past the alley has been a place where drug deals have gone down.
"That area back there is an area known to our narcotics detectives. It’s an area where there are frequent narcotic sales going on, relating to this homicide not yet but it’s obviously at least something we’ll look into it," said Hartford Deputy Police Chief Brian Foley.
