A serious crash on Interstate 91 in Meriden caused heavy delays on Wednesday afternoon.

The one-car crash happened on the southbound side of I-91 in the area of exit 17, and closed the highway for a period of time. Route 15 south was also closed in Meriden so LIFE STAR could land to respond to the crash.

As of 4 p.m., both highways were open.
