On Thursday, Build-A-Bear Workshop offered a big deal to its customers.

Thursday was “Pay Your Age Day,” where customers across the country could choose any furry friend, and pay the dollar amount of their age.

However, before noon the company said lines had to be closed in all stores because there were too many people.

The company wrote on Facebook "Urgent Alert: Lines Closed for Pay Your Age Day Event. Per local authorities, we cannot accept additional Guests at our locations due to crowds and safety concerns. We have closed lines in our U.S. and Canada stores. We understand some Guests are disappointed and we will reach out directly as soon as possible."

Customers had to join the Build-A-Bear Bonus Club to participate, but the one-day sale does not include accessories.

The do-it-yourself stuffed animal store said the most anyone will have to pay is $29.

There are four build-a-bear workshops in Connecticut – Westfarms Mall in Farmington, Buckland Hills Mall in Manchester, Westfield Mall in Trumbull, and Danbury Fair Mall in Danbury.
