A man is accused of breaking into the Wesport home of his friend's mother and sexually assaulting her.
Police arrested 22-year-old Charles Ayala of Upper Darby, PA on Sunday.
Police said the female victim reported waking up to her son's friend standing over her while she was in bed.
The victim was outside of her Hales Court home by the time officers arrived.
Ayala remained inside, detained by the victim's son and another friend.
He was taken into custody.
Police said the incident happened after Ayala and the son of the victim were partying earlier in the night.
Ayala became drunk, so the victim's son brought him to Inwood Lane and left him to sleep in a vehicle for the night.
Around midnight, however, police said Ayala returned to Hales Court and entered the victim's home.
He made it to her bedroom while she was sleeping.
She told police that she awoke to Ayala turning on the lights and walking toward her as he was trying to unbuckle his pants.
The victim was able to brush him off and run downstairs. However, Ayala followed her and inappropriately touched her over her clothing, according to police.
As she tried to leave the home, Ayala kept pulling her back towards him, she told police.
A neighbor eventually came to the rescue and told Ayala to leave.
He then went back inside the victim's home where he had an altercation with the victim's son.
Police arrived and took Ayala into custody.
He was charged with first-degree burglary, creating a public disturbance, fourth-degree sexual assault and second-degree unlawful restraint.
Ayala was held on a $100,000 bond, which was reduced to $25,000.
He faced a judge in Norwalk Court Monday.
