A missing vehicle belonging to a homicide victim in Meriden has been found in Hartford, according to Meriden police.

Officers reported on Friday that the blue Nissan Sentra was recovered during the overnight hours of Thursday into Friday.

They said it was unoccupied and will be processed on Friday.

Police said the car belonged to a man whose body was found to be decomposing in an apartment on East Main Street in Meriden.

The discovery was made on Wednesday after tenants reported a foul odor.

Police estimated that the body had been there for quite some time.

They said they are investigating it as a homicide, but would not comment further.

Autopsy results and the man's identity have not yet been released.
