Storrs Road in Mansfield reopened on Wednesday afternoon after an officer-involved shooting on Tuesday evening.

Connecticut State Troopers were called to the scene of a disturbance, and reports of a suspect with a gun around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police said troopers arrived at a home and when they got there, they said a man started shooting at them so they fired back.

The man was hit by troopers and was taken to the hospital via LIFE STAR.

A trooper received a minor injury but was not shot, police said.

There is no threat to the public.

Route 195 was closed at Bassett's Bridge Road for the investigation. Route 195 reopened around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Before state police reopened the road around noon time on Wednesday, they hauled away a minivan on a flatbed, along with a mustang.

They also blocked off a driveway with police tape and police are watching the home from across the street.
