PD: 1 killed after car rolled off I-91 north in Enfield

At least one person was killed in a crash in Enfield on Monday afternoon. (WFSB)

Connecticut State Police said one person was killed and another was injured after a car crossed all lanes on I-91 north in Enfield, and then rolled over onto the street below the highway.

The crash was reported a little after 2 p.m. on Monday, in the area of Exit 46-47.

Police said for unknown reasons, the Jeep Wrangler driven by 32-year-old John Gallucci, veered to the right and crossed all three travel lanes. The SUV then struck the barrier and went over a bridge onto Oliver Road in Enfield. Oliver Road is about 20 feet below I-91.

The passenger, 22-year-old Marie Parks, was brought to Baystate Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

Gallucci was brought to St. Francis Hospital for serious injuries, but is expected to survive.

The crash is still under investigation.
