East Haven police have made two arrests after a woman was killed in a hit-and-run over the weekend.
On Tuesday, police said they arrested Edward Santomassimo III, 33, and Jeanna Suraci, 33, for their involvement in the hit-and-run.
Police said Santomassimo was driving the car that reportedly hit 59-year-old Lynn Travisano, who was killed. Suraci was the passenger.
Travisano was hit while in the intersection of Foxon Road and Paul Street in East Haven on Saturday, around 8:30 p.m.
She was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital where she died.
Police said the car that hit her, a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, was captured on an officer’s dash camera as he was pulling up to the scene.
Santomassimo was charged with evading responsibility and interfering with a police officer. He is being held on a $750,000 bond and is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
Suraci was charged with interfering with a police officer and hindering prosecution. She is being held on a $75,000 bond and is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
