Police identify man found dead in Willimantic apartment; death ruled homicide

Connecticut State Police have identified the man who was found dead in an apartment complex in Willimantic on Wednesday morning.

Police said the death of 73-year-old William Alvarado was ruled a homicide.

The body of Alvarado was discovered in the John Ashton residential complex at 621 Valley St. around 7:15 a.m.

Detectives from Eastern District Major Crime took over the investigation after they determined the death to be suspicious.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Connecticut State Police at 860-896-3230 or text TIP711 with the information to 274637. State police said all calls/texts will remain confidential.
