Route 2 in Colchester reopens following frozen food truck rollover

Route 2 eastbound was closed on Friday morning following a tractor trailer accident in Colchester.

It reopened later in the morning.

According to state police, a tractor trailer carrying frozen food rolled over near the Route 11 split.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

Police said the road remained closed while the truck was righted and the food was cleared off of the highway.

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection as well as the Department of Consumer Protection responded to the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
