Albany Ave in West Hartford reopened following a crash on Friday morning.

Police said a car crashed into a pole on Route 44 just after 3 a.m.

They told Channel 3 on scene that the corner of Mountain Rd. and Route 44 was closed, as well as, Route 10 at Route 44 and Deer Cliff and Route 44 in Avon.

Later in the morning, only a single lane was blocked.

According to police, a car was traveling west down Avon Mountain when the driver slammed into a utility pole.

They said the pole snapped and brought down wires and debris.

The driver was conscious when emergency crews arrived, but trapped.

Firefighters were able to remove the driver, who was then transported to Hartford Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Crews worked replace the pole, police said.

There's no word on what caused the driver to crash.

The area is well-traveled, especially during the morning commute.
