Investigators are looking into what caused a multi-vehicle crash involving a fuel tanker on Rt. 9 in Middletown.

According to police, a car collided with the fuel tanker around 11:55 p.m. Tuesday on the southbound lanes near exit 16 and the Arrigoni Bridge. The scene was cleared around 4:30 Wednesday morning.

Police said no one was seriously hurt. Fuel from the tanker was leaking and crews were called in to pump the remaining fuel out of the tanker and clean up any spilled fuel.
