A Somers high school teacher has been placed on paid administrative leave following allegations of "unprofessional conduct in the classroom."
Jim Folger, whom is listed as a science teacher at Somers High School, was placed on leave on June 15.
Superintendent Brian Czapla cited the classroom conduct and "unprofessional conduct directed toward staff" as the reasons for the leave.
"During the paid administrative leave period, you are to refrain from attending any school functions, visiting school grounds, communicating with staff and contact with students," Czapla wrote in a letter to Folger.
The leave was listed as indefinite pending an investigation into the allegations.
No other details were released.
