Tractor trailer side-swipes state police cruiser in Waterford

A state police trooper was hospitalized after his cruiser was side-swiped by a tractor trailer.

State police said it happened on Interstate 95 southbound near exit 82 in Waterford.

The incident took place just before 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday.

Troopers said the cruiser was stopped along the right shoulder, in which the tractor trailer drifted.

The truck continued traveling south without stopping.

State police said the trooper, identified as 33-year-old Charles Workman, was transported to the hospital for evaluation of minor injuries.
